One install, then it just works
No terminal, no Node, no Python to set up. Double-click and you're done.
One-click install
The setup installs just for you, so Windows never asks for administrator rights. Start menu shortcut, desktop icon and a proper entry in Add or remove programs — all of it handled.
Sign in with Google
No pairing codes to copy. Sign in once and your API key follows the account — the same key on your PC, your laptop and your phone, updated everywhere the moment you change it.
Your phone, your PC
Send a task from the Android app and watch it run at home. On the same Wi-Fi it goes direct; anywhere else it routes through the cloud link.
It writes code too
Point Code mode at a project folder and it reads the files, makes the change, runs that project's own tests and shows you the diff — working inside that folder and nowhere else. Every turn can be undone, including the files it created.
Bring your own tools
Connect any Model Context Protocol (MCP) server — your database, your issue tracker, your own — and its tools become things Helix can use while it works. Plugins bundle servers and standards into one thing you install once; nothing runs until you switch it on.
You choose how much it asks
Five settings, from asking before every change to never asking at all. Whichever you pick, it cannot touch anything outside the folder you opened — that is a boundary in the code, not a preference.
Updates that can be undone
New versions arrive in the app, tell you what changed, and download only the parts that actually differ — usually about a sixth of the installer. If one ever fails to start, Helix notices and offers to put the previous version back.
Talk to it while it works
Start a call and just speak. Helix answers out loud and keeps working at the same time — ask it something halfway through a task and it replies without stopping. It checks what it has actually done before telling you, so it never claims something it hasn't finished. Interrupt whenever you like; it stops talking and listens.

The desktop app is where the work happens. The phone app is the remote.
Windows
10 & 11The full app: it sees your screen, plans the task and drives the mouse and keyboard. Opens in its own window. Tap the microphone to talk to it instead of typing.
- Download HelixSetup.exe and run it.
- If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, choose More info → Run anyway — the app is new, not signed yet.
- Click Install. It takes about a minute.
- Helix opens — sign in with Google and you're ready.
Android
8.0+Send tasks to your PC from anywhere, watch each step live, and chat with the model directly when your PC is off. On the same Wi-Fi you can call your PC and talk to it.
- Download Helix.apk on your phone.
- Tap the download and allow Install unknown apps when asked.
- Open Helix and sign in with the same Google account.
- Your PC shows up on its own — nothing to pair.
Chrome
ExtensionA side panel that sits beside the page you're reading, so you can ask about it without leaving. Helix works in a tab of its own — browsing, filling forms, reading the console — while you keep using your browser. It never takes your mouse and never touches the tab you're in.
- Download and unzip helix-chrome.zip somewhere you'll keep it.
- Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode.
- Click Load unpacked and choose the folder.
- With Helix running on the same PC, it connects on its own.
Why does Windows warn me? The installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen flags it the way it flags every new program. Choose More info → Run anyway. Helix installs only into your own user folder and never asks for administrator rights.
